    Nairobi to Maasai Mara

    Into the Maasai Mara

    Depart Nairobi after breakfast and travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley towards the legendary Maasai Mara. The journey takes approximately 5–6 hours, depending on traffic, road conditions and stops.

    Arrive at your lodge or luxury tented camp and settle in. If time permits, enjoy an afternoon game drive to begin your wildlife adventure.

  2. Day 2

    Full-Day Maasai Mara

    Big Five Safari in the Mara

    Spend a full day exploring the Maasai Mara on private game drives. Search for lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras and other wildlife across the reserve.

    Depending on the season and your interests, you may choose an optional hot air balloon safari or Maasai cultural experience.

    Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru

    From the Mara to the Great Rift Valley

    Arrive at Lake Nakuru National Park and enjoy an afternoon game drive. Search for rhinos, Rothschild's giraffes, buffaloes, lions, leopards and numerous bird species.

    Lake Nakuru to Lake Naivasha

    Depending on your interests and available time, a visit to nearby Hell's Gate can also be arranged.

Your safari is conducted with an experienced professional guide and private safari vehicle. Always follow your guide's instructions when around wildlife and remain inside the vehicle unless your guide confirms that it is safe to exit. Do not feed, approach or attempt to interact with wild animals. At lodges and camps, follow staff guidance, particularly after dark. For optional activities such as boat trips, walking experiences and balloon safaris, follow the safety requirements of the relevant operator.

What to bring

Pack lightweight and comfortable safari clothing, preferably in neutral or earthy colours, together with a warm jacket or fleece for cool mornings and evenings. Comfortable closed shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, a wide-brimmed hat, insect repellent, binoculars and a camera are recommended. Bring personal medication, toiletries, a reusable water bottle and a power bank or spare batteries. A soft-sided travel bag is preferable for safari travel.
